Walk and record the City of Glasgow Union Railway arcade structure
This project proposes a perspective of viewing the elongated city element as an architecture. The Victorian viaduct of City of Glasgow Union Railway in city centre is used as the instrument of this proposal. It questions about scales defining how an object is being read. The reason of choosing this viaduct is that it is less complicated with branches, and is closer and has more dialogues with the city.
The City of Glasgow Union Railway arcade structure dramatically traverses an urban block at High Street of Glasgow, making a dead-end alley which leads to a fishmonger. Observation will start from this point and follow this railway structure. This structure was built for transportation, but it exists like a giant habitable wall in the city. Role of the structure and relationship between it and the city are to be address. This project attempts to record the images between the structure and the city.
