Green Housing
To Live/ To Work - Urban Housing
The housing scheme aims at bringing together groups of working couples and families to a place that matches their lifestyle and work environment. The development offers workshops spaces where people could come together to make crafts and share ideas designed indoor as well as outdoor. A grand courtyard explores the idea of gathering different age groups to spend quality time together outside working, playing, meeting up, taking care of greenery, working out or meditating with the mindset of meeting different people and creating a community spirit. The housing project tries to integrate greenery as an essential element of day-to-day life- from people’s workplaces, their shared space between flats, their balconies all the way up to their green roof terrace. A housing that creates places where one could experience the nature retreat while being ‘ at home’.

The tenement typology as a physical timeline
The artwork displays the tenement typology as a physical timeline and how a
simple elevation could explicitly depict occupants’ social status, way of living
and mindset of the certain historical period.
The concept of the artwork revolves around the importance of restoring and
adapting buildings to current lifestyle in order to continue the life of the most
iconic housing typology in Glasgow.
